About HBA High School
SMALL CLASSES. GREAT TEACHERS!
The Best in College Preparation
If you are looking for an alternative to public school education that offers small classes tailored to the needs of your child, then consider our full time program. Our courses meet or exceed the California State Standards and are approved by the U.C. and C.S.U. systems. Our standard college prep courses are designed to remediate gaps in knowledge and to strengthen basic skills, while our Honors and AP classes will challenge the advanced student. Classes are offered according to student preferences. We offer up to 10 AP courses a year.
We specialize in preparing students for the SAT and ACT. Juniors in our high school program can take our College Success course for high school credit which prepares them for these entrance exams as well as helping students with the college selection process.
Flexible scheduling for athletes and others
For students that need a school schedule which fits their special activities, such as sports and careers, we can customize a schedule to fit their needs. Students at High Bluff can consolidate their lessons into four days per week, or create a compact daily schedule with either a late start or early dismissal. All of our courses are approved by NCAA and our students have gone on to play Division 1 sports at many prestigious universities.
Clubs and Activities
HBA offers community service opportunities, clubs, field trips and social activities. Students can enjoy basketball, ping pong, yoga and weight training classes at neighboring facilities. We also use parks and private clubs for activities, dances and the graduation ceremony. The school also has its own chapter of the National Honors Society.
Please call to arrange a visit to our facility. Students in the traditional full-day program attend from 7:40 am to 2:30 pm.
