High school science classes present a new set of challenges to many students. Biology requires intensive reading, memorization of extensive factual material and mastering new concepts. Chemistry is the first class students take that requires them to apply the skills they have learned in math to an entirely new set of abstract concepts and Physics requires advanced algebra and higher level reasoning skills.
Our teachers at HBA are experts in teaching these skills to learners of all ability levels. They know how to break down complex ideas and communicate them in a manner that students understand. They realize that students don’t always retain information from previous courses, so they begin with the basics and build on the student’s existing knowledge and experience.
Our science classes are challenging and rigorous, preparing students for college-level work, but at the same time, our students feel supported and successful. All HBA science courses are U.C. approved and include laboratory experience.
