What happens next
Five steps to enrollment
Submit your application
Email admissions the completed application form, a scan of the student's passport photo page, the latest transcript from the current school, and any standardized scores or awards — AP, SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo.
Review and offer
The admissions office reviews the file within one to two business days and issues the official offer letter by email.
Tuition and enrollment
Pay tuition within the offer validity period, following the invoice sent by your admissions officer, then return the payment receipt so the academic team can register the student.
Registration and course planning
Once payment is confirmed the registrar formally enrolls the student, and a 1-on-1 course planning session builds a personalized schedule around target universities and intended major.
System access and orientation
We open the student's school system account, set up a family communication group for regular progress updates, and run orientation: the school, the homeroom and subject teachers, how to submit work, online exam proctoring rules, and attendance expectations.

Questions families ask us most
What grades do you serve?
HBA Global Online serves high school students. The diploma program is built around a four-year plan from grade 9, and students transferring in later bring their existing credits with them.
What is the difference between the diploma program and credit electives?
The diploma program is full enrollment with us: six courses a year, a dedicated advisor, and an accredited High Bluff Academy diploma at the end. Credit electives are single courses taken alongside your current school — you stay enrolled there, and the credit appears on an official HBA transcript. Both use rolling admission.
How many credits do I need to graduate?
Twenty-four. One year-long course earns one credit, so a diploma student taking six courses a year reaches 24 credits in four years. Credits from a previous school transfer in after evaluation by the registrar, and at least six of the 24 must be earned at HBA Online.
Will you accept the credits my student has already earned?
Yes, subject to evaluation. Send the most recent transcript to admissions and the registrar will confirm which credits transfer and what remains outstanding, before you enroll.
How do the classes actually run?
Three formats. 1-on-1 live instruction is a private class scheduled around the student. Small-group live classes run with three to eight students, weekly office hours and discussion groups. Recorded self-paced courses use professionally filmed video lessons with graded assignments and teacher feedback, and are available as credit electives.
My student is not in the United States. Can the timetable work?
Yes. Live classes are scheduled to the student's own time zone, including Asia-friendly hours, and teachers are matched partly on time zone. Recorded coursework can be done at any hour.
Can we choose our teacher?
You meet the teacher before committing. We arrange trial sessions with two or three matched teachers within 48 hours and send their qualification records. If the fit is wrong, you can change teachers in the opening weeks of a course.
Where does my student sit the AP exam?
Enroll in any AP course and we hold a seat at HBA's official College Board testing site in San Diego. The school handles AP exam registration and score reporting for enrolled students.
Do you support academic competitions?
Yes, as an add-on. The school registers enrolled students for AMC 10/12, USABO, IBO, Physics Bowl and others, and many of our faculty coach these competitions directly.
Is the diploma recognized outside the United States?
The school is accredited by WASC, and courses are UC A–G approved and NCAA approved. Transcripts and AP scores are accepted by universities in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong without third-party credential conversion.
Is my student a student athlete? Will these courses count for NCAA eligibility?
Yes. Our courses are NCAA approved, so they count toward eligibility, and the schedule is built around training and competition rather than the other way around.
How much is tuition?
Credit electives run $6,500 per course 1-on-1, $4,500 in a small group and $2,500 recorded. The diploma program is $36,400 a year taught 1-on-1 and $22,600 in small groups, for six courses. A one-time registration fee applies: $420 for credit electives, $1,400 for the diploma program. Full detail is on the Admission page.
When can we start?
Any term. Both programs use rolling admission across four terms — fall, winter, spring and summer — so there is no need to wait for a September intake.
Can an online graduate attend a graduation ceremony?
Yes. Graduates who want to walk are welcome at the in-person ceremony in San Diego.
