Honors
Honors is an option, not a separate track
Wherever you see the Honors tag, the course is offered at two levels. The standard section covers the full UC A–G requirement; the honors section moves faster, goes deeper and carries a heavier assessment load. Both earn the same one credit.
- 21 courses can be taken at honors level, across mathematics, science, English and Spanish
- Elect honors course by course — a student can take Honors Algebra 2 and standard English in the same year
- Honors appears on the transcript and is weighted accordingly in the GPA
- Your advisor recommends the level for each subject after the placement assessment, and it can be adjusted in the opening weeks if the fit is wrong
- Honors is the usual bridge into AP — Honors Algebra 2 into AP Precalculus, Honors Biology into AP Biology
