Inspiring Teachers

Read our testimonials to see how HBA teachers challenge and support each student at his or level. They provide mentorship and values – infused education. Research shows that the student-teacher relationship has the greatest impact on student learning.

Small class size means student engagement

Each student contributes to class discussions in each class, every day. There’s no “back of the class” to hide in. Cell phones are collected and students are engaged.

Outstanding college acceptances

Our Director has been helping students prepare for college admissions for over 30 years. We teach students how to achieve better grades and test scores and help them to find colleges that are a best fit.

Positive peer group

HBA students are happy, goal-oriented and supportive of their peers. HBA is a safe zone for a diverse group of students.

Personalized instruction

HBA caters to college bound students of all levels. We find the perfect balance between challenging students with a rigorous curriculum and offering support. Students can take a one-on-one math class to remediate gaps or accelerate to AP Calculus BC.

Client-centered education

The HBA leadership team listens to parents and is responsive to their concerns.

Resort town/convenient location

Local students find our High Bluff location very convenient. International students will love our resort town neighborhood and ideal climate. HBA is only one mile from the beach!

Service learning

HBA has teamed up with College Board and WE Service to provide curriculum rich in social commitment and provides opportunities for community service activities every week.

Test prep infused curriculum

All of HBA’s math and English teachers are experienced test prep teachers. Students can take an ACT prep class as an elective during their school day.

Tutoring and homework time built into the school day

Students can choose to have a Tutorial class every day or twice a week. Study skills, time-on-task, and tutoring result in students having less homework to bring home each night.
